Obituary for Elsie "Darlene" Hansen (Anderson)
Elsie "Darlene" Hansen, age 82, of Alma passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at her home under the care of My Michigan Hospice.
Funeral Services for Darlene will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ryan Tice officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place in Chapel Gardens Cemetery in Alma. The family will receive friends at the funeral chapel on Monday, March 20, from 4 until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or My Michigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Darlene was born on May 2, 1940, in Alma, daughter of Ward and Wava (Andrews) Anderson. Darlene married the love of her life, Harvey Hansen on June 28, 1958, in St. Louis, MI. Darlene worked as a caregiver for her Parents' Adult Foster Care Home for 19 years, as well as owning and operating Hansen's AFC for 19 years. She was a member of the St. Louis Church of God and enjoyed camping, boating, watching movies, playing board games, but most importantly, spending time with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loving Chihuahuas.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 64 years, Harvey Hansen; children, Vickie Ackels, Cheryl (Mark) Page, and Julie (Steve) Chinn, all of Alma; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and brother, Kennith (Pat) Anderson of Elwell.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Walter and Rick Anderson.
