ERIC “RICK” J. DAVIS
FEBRUARY 4, 1962 – AUGUST 15, 2019
Eric “Rick” J. Davis 57 of Houghton Lake, Michigan passed away Thursday, August 15, 2019 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital-Grand Rapids, Michigan. Eric was born February 4, 1962 in Lansing, Michigan the son of Judson Orville Davis and Patricia Elaine (Anderson) Davis. Eric was raised in Lansing.
Rick had resided in Houghton Lake since 2004, moving from Arizona. On July 2, 2009, Eric was united in marriage to Ms. Cynthia Ann Zimmer in Houghton Lake. Rick was employed with Sandy Oaks RV Resort Park of Houghton Lake for over thirteen years as the Maintenance Supervisor. He was passionate about his job and enjoyed not only working for the tenants, but making friends with them. Many considered Rick as their “go to guy”. When Rick wasn’t busy at work, he enjoyed boating, going to steak bingo, grilling, sitting around the campfire with family and friends enjoying a Bud Light. Eric was truly a social butterfly, no one was considered a stranger to him.
Surviving Eric is his wife and best friend of ten years, Mrs. Cynthia A. Davis of Houghton Lake, his two sons; Jesse Stoner of Houghton Lake and Cody Stoner (Cassandra Herbers) also of Houghton Lake, his granddaughter, Sunny Stoner, three brothers; Mark Davis and wife Sandee of Lansing, Karl Davis and wife Debbie also of Lansing and Lary Davis of Houghton Lake, one brother in-law, Charles Zimmer and Lisa Glanders of Rose City, Michigan, plus many nieces, nephews, close friends and his beloved dogs; shilo and Joker. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Judson and Patricia Davis.
Celebration of Life services for Mr. Davis will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts in memory of Eric may be considered to the Davis Family, in care of: Cynthia A. Davis.
