Obituary for Florence Ruby Emlinger
EMLINGER, FLORENCE RUBY, age 93, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Mt. Pleasant Comfort Care.
Funeral Services for Florence will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Yost officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place at Chippewa Township Cemetery after the luncheon. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the funeral chapel and on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Michigan Free Methodist Church or My Mid-Michigan Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Florence was born November 21, 1929, in Tustin, Michigan, the daughter of Blee and Bessie (Smith) Hatt. She was married to Russell Junior Emlinger on December 21, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1984. Florence was a member of Central Michigan Free Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren the most. In her spare time, Florence liked crocheting, walking, and all kinds of animals.
Florence is survived by her children, Duane (Judi) Emlinger of Ionia, Janet (Dennis) Gauthier of Shepherd, Jean (Vance) Johnson of Shepherd, Brenda Palmer (Joe Wohlscheid) of Mt. Pleasant; 7 grandchildren Shane (Carrie) Gauthier, Nathan (Kate) Johnson, Nick (Nicole) Johnson, Sarah Gauthier, Erik Emlinger, Shanna (Adam) Burggraf, Adam Palmer; 14 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson, and special niece: Cindy (Mike) Smith.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband Russell; granddaughter Amanda Palmer; brothers Howard, Earl, Lavier, and Blee Hatt; sisters Ettie Kenyon, Lillian Livermore, and Vera Husted.
