Obituary for Francis Joseph Engler
ENGLER, FRANCIS JOSEPH, age 92, of Beal City, passed away peacefully April 27, 2021, at his home with his family around him.
Funeral services for Francis will be held at St. Joseph Catholic church of Beal City, on Friday, April 30 at 11 A.M. with Fr. Tom Held officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church on Thursday, April 29 from 4 - 8 P.M. with a Vigil at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will continue Friday at 10 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to McLaren Home Care and Hospice or St. Joseph School Endowment Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church or Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Francis was born November 23, 1928 to Frank and Viola (O’Brien) Engler. After high school he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Francis was a lifelong farmer. He married Mary Ann Zemko on February 8, 1951 in Rosebush. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, FHA board, Isabella County Parks and Recreation and planning commission, The St. Joseph Parish Council and Building Committee, and numerous other agricultural committees. He loved bowling, going on cruises and playing cards. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh with family.
Francis is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of 70 years, Their children, Caroline Bacome of Mt. Pleasant, Linda (Bob) Mead of Beal City, Julie Engler of Mt. Pleasant and Frank (Penny) Engler of Beal City; grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Palladino, Ryan Ramsey and Amanda, Nathan (Rachel) Mead, Leslie (James) Riley, Joshua Mead, Frank (Christina) Engler, Paul (Lauren) Engler, Laura Engler and Ken, and Teri Trese; great-grandchildren; Aidan Mead, Brian Mead, Eleanor Trese, Madeleine Trese, Michael Trese, Emma Engler, Andrew Engler, Olivia Engler, Jacob Ramsey, Jamey Riley, Keagan Riley, Lane Engler, and Faye Engler.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Viola Engler; sisters Rosemary Pung and Ellen Grinzinger; infant daughter Mary Ellen Engler; infant Grandson Brian Engler, and son-in-law Bradley Bacome.
