Obituary for Francisco "Frank" Vasquez Jr.

VASQUEZ, FRANCISCO "FRANK", JR., age 83, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at the Majestic Care Assisted Living in Flushing.

Funeral Services for Frank will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 8, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Doyle Perry officiating. Interment will follow in the Chippewa Township Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow the Committal Service at the Sacred Heart Parish Hall. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Indian Church of the Nazarene. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Frank was born on April 22, 1938, in San Antonio, TX, son of Francisco and Eloisa (Ortiz) Vasquez. Frank was a member of the Faith Indian Church of the Nazarene and worked at General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1993. He coached little league baseball for many years and loved watching the Detroit Tigers. Frank enjoyed playing bingo, played guitar, and loved to sing and dance. He was an avid bowler and loved to cook. Frank was always dressed up, enjoyed socializing and attending camp meetings.

Frank's family would like to thank his Soaring Eagle Bingo family for all of their love and care throughout the years.

Frank is survived by his children, Connie Vasquez, Bonnie (Bernard) Sprague, Terry Vasquez, Kenneth Vasquez, Mark (Kandy) Ojeda-Vasquez, Sandra (Dan) McCreery, Omero "Mize" (Candy) Vasquez, Alan "Gene" Vasquez, and Jennifer Wassegijig; 33 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings, Cresencio (Margie) Vasquez, Fred (Felice) Vasquez, Richard (Jane) Vasquez, Juan (Lilly) Vasquez, Olivia (Joe) Torres, Mary Medellin, and Guadalupe (Quirino) Salazar; and several nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, Taylor "Kook" Vasquez, Ridge Jackson, and Lindsey Sprague; son-in-law, Allan Wassegijig; sister, Marge V. Arizola; and brothers-in-law, Frank Medellin and Frank Arizola.
