Obituary for Frank John Sytek
SYTEK, FRANK JOHN, age 72, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 29, 2020, at his home.
A Funeral Mass for Frank will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Don Henkes officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the church and the funeral chapel.
Frank was born June 2, 1948, in Germany, the son of Teodore and Janina (Bartosik) Sytek. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy with the class of 1966. Frank married Karen Swan on May 28, 1971. Frank worked for CMU for 42 years, retiring in 2010 as a journeyman maintenance mechanic. He was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for most of his life. Frank’s passion was time spent with his family, mechanics, and restoring 1957 Chevy’s. He loved getting bargains at garage sales, was an amazing cook, and enjoyed gardening/farming in his spare time.
Frank is survived by his wife Karen Sytek; son Frankie (Melissa) Sytek of Lake Isabella; daughter Heather (Jason) Saunders of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Ashlynn Sytek, Landon Garcia, Alex Sytek, and Bella Saunders; brother John Sytek of Mt. Pleasant; sister Irene Beltinck of Rapid City; and brother-in-law Robert (Andrea) Swan of Grand Blanc.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law Edward Beltinck; brother-in-law Kevin Swan; and parents-in-law Robert and Barbara Swan.
