Obituary for Frank George Vansteel III
VANSTEEL, FRANK GEORGE III, age 69, of Shepherd, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2020.
Frank’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Michigan Hospice-Woodland Office. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Frank was born September 28, 1950, in St. Johns, Michigan, the son of Frank and Helen (Williams) Vansteel, Jr. He was a graduate of Torrance High School, CA with the class of 1968. Frank proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force, Civil Engineer Squadron and Red Horse from September 15, 1976 honorably retiring on July 1st, 1995. He married Angela Klein March 18, 1988 in Lake Tahoe, CA. His Air Force career took them on many adventures to include California, England, Florida, and back to Michigan. Frank was an active member of the American Legion Post #110 and VFW Post #3033, where his duties included participating with the honor guard. His loves were camping, golfing, music, sports (Oakland Raiders and Detroit Tigers) and riding his Harley Davidson with KA HU Pale k Aiko MC-Honolulu.
Frank is survived by his wife Angela Vansteel of Shepherd; son Jesse (Vansteel) Robinson, granddaughter Holi-nicol, great-granddaughter Adelaide of Sumter, SC ; son Vance (Jessica) Vansteel and granddaughter Jazzmyn of Las Vegas NV; with many stepchildren, grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and brother Lawrence (Sandy) Vansteel of Wisconsin.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank Jr. and Helen Vansteel; and son Frank Vansteel IV.
