DUNBAR, FREDERICK JAMES, age 91, of Midland passed away Monday, March 7, 2022.
A Private Family Service will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Fred was born on August 31, 1930, in Midland, son of Henry and Louella (Gates) Dunbar. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He married Dolores Yaxley on September 29, 1950, in Midland. Fred served 34 years as a postal clerk for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and watching outdoors sports.
Fred is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dolores; children, Terrhie Harper of Midland and Fayette (Ray) Durham of Lexington, SC; 4 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Mary Louise Doty and Doris Jean Higbee.
