Obituary for Frederick Louis "Fred" Propst

Frederick “Fred” Louis Propst Sr., 85 of Midland passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Sunday, July 18, 2021. Frederick was born June 9, 1936 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Harry and Maxine (Propst) Widden. Mr. Propst enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served his country during the Korean Conflict.
Frederick retired from General Motors Corporation in 1993 after thirty-one years of service at Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry. Fred was united in marriage to Kathleen Diane Ford-Wright on October 24, 1995 in Midland. Fred enjoyed traveling to Florida to spend time with his sister. He loved going on cruises with his wife Kathie. Fred also enjoyed fishing, watching televised baseball games, as well as Loons games in person and spending quality time with his daughters, Christine and all of his grandchildren.
Surviving Mr. Propst is his loving wife of twenty-five years, Mrs. Kathleen Diane Propst of Midland, two children: Chris Frost and husband Eric of Rhodes, Michigan and Frederick Propst Jr. of Palm Springs, California, two step-children: Chris Wright and wife Jennifer of Houghton Lake, Michigan and Laura Wright of Midland, three grandchildren: Ryan Piasecki, Devin Piasecki and Cody Piasecki, five step-grandchildren: Colton Wright, Sydney Wright, Mandelynn Tachna, Bethany Tachna and Lance Tachna, one sister, Phyllis Ernest of Grafton, Illinois, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Mr. Propst was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Jacqueline Cook, one adopted brother, Jimmy Hurry.
Life Celebration services and Military Honors for Mr. Propst will be announced at a later date. Inurnment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Midland, Michigan. Arrangements for Mr. Propst are entrusted with Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison (989)539-7810.
