Obituary for Garland Roy "Moe" Moses Jr.

GARLAND ROY MOSES, JR. "MOE", age 83, of Midland passed away Friday, November 26, 2021, at Nottingham Place Assisted Living in Midland.

Funeral Services for Moe will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 2, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Doyle Perry officiating. A Luncheon will immediately follow at 7th Generation. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Andahwod Assisted Living. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Moe was born on September 4, 1938, in Mt. Pleasant, son of Garland, Sr., and Beatrice (Davis) Moses. Moe was a proud member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and worked as the housekeeping manager at the Soaring Eagle for 15 years, in custodial maintenance at CMU for 13 years, and retired from custodial maintenance at the Andahwod Assisted Living after 15 years. He was a member of the Faith Indian Nazarene Church. Moe enjoyed playing golf, bowling, bonfires, listening to music, and playing guitar. He loved motorcycles and cars, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Moe is survived by his children, Christopher Moses, Scott (JoAnn) Moses, Paul (Fran Jasinski) Moses, and Sharrie (Steven Keehbauch) Moses, all of Mt. Pleasant; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Vicki) Pelcher and Harry (Denise) Pelcher, both of Mt. Pleasant; sisters, Helen Peters, Sue (William) Durfee, and Ruth Moses, all of Mt. Pleasant; and many nieces and nephews.

Moe was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Josephine Jackson, Beverly Vasquez, and Caroline Pelcher; and brother, DJ Elk.
