Obituary for Gerald George "Jerry" Zuker
ZUKER, GERALD GEORGE, “JERRY”, age 68, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Woodland Hospice House.
A Memorial Service for both Jerry and Cathy will take place on Monday, August 16, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow in Reflections Reception Center. The family will greet friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Animal Treatment Society, 1105 S. Isabella Rd., Mt. Pleasant, MI 44858 or the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Michigan, 29777 Telegraph Rd., #1651, Southfield, MI 48034.

Jerry was born March 22, 1953, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Norman and Donna (Nobel) Zuker. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the class of 1972. Jerry married Cathy Schroll and cared for her with gentleness and love during their 43 years of marriage. Cathy preceded Jerry in death on November 23, 2020. He worked for CMU in facilities management beginning in 1985 until his retirement on June 30, 2010. Jerry was a lifelong Mt. Pleasant resident. He stayed close with his high school friends and enjoyed the yearly golf outing, “The Bones Open”. Jerry will be remembered best by his daily naps, hunting, fishing, listening to music (especially the Beatles), and going to the casino. Jerry dearly loved his granddaughters and was well known at the local fast-food joints, Jon’s Country Burgers and The Pixie.
Jerry is survived by his sons Benjamin (Jamie) Simon of Linwood, Ryan Zuker of Dewitt; granddaughters Anna and Claire Simon; brothers Joe Zuker and Dave Zuker; sisters Marilyn (Bob) Zeneberg and Diane (Bob) Lackie; sister-in-law Patty Zuker all of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Donna Zuker; wife Cathy Zuker; brothers Patrick Zuker and Mike Jones; sister-in-law Cindy Zuker; and stepmother Veronica Zuker.
