Geraldine Francis (Smith) Strong, age 91, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2023, surrounded by loved ones at her home.
Per Geraldine’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
Geraldine was born on September 6, 1931, at the family home in Gilmore Township, daughter of the late Levi Mahlon Smith and Mildred (Spencer) Smith. Geraldine worked as an accountant for the Government Department of Defense. In retirement she was actively engaged in the community. Geraldine enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, working on puzzles with friends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Wayne Strong of Canada, Kay Strong of Ohio, James (Bev) Strong of Remus, and Patricia (Galen) Voss of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Christopher Simmons of Ohio, Annika Simmons of Ohio, Oliver (Nilanthy) Strong of Chelsea, Sheila (David Eggle) Strong of Massachusetts, Justin (Amanda) Voss of Wesphalia, Matthew (Miriam) of New Jersey, Nicholas Voss of DeWitt, Benjamin Voss of Mt. Pleasant, Karen Strong of Bitely, and Jeanna Pitts-Lafey of Ionia; great-grandchildren, Fiona Strong, Dominic Voss, Rachel Voss, Evelyn Voss, Simon Voss, Xavier Voss, Eliana Voss, Seraphina Voss, and Aubrey Voss; brother, Ronald (Pat) Smith of Shepherd; sisters, Laura Hull of Remus, Henrietta Munneke of Minnesota, and Marian Pierce of Alma.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; son, Keith Strong; brothers, Burnett and Levi Jr.
