Obituary for Glenn E. ""Giddyup"" Dillon

Glenn “Giddyup” E. Dillon 80 of Harrison passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his home. Glenn was born June 21, 1938 in Boynton, Missouri, the son of Donald and Theodosia (McDowell) Dillon. Mr. Dillon honorably served his country in the United States Army. Glenn began his civilian career working as a truck driver, delivering freight for over thirty years, retiring in 1994. Glenn was united in marriage to Ms. Yvonne J. McWethy on July 16, 1971 in Highland, Michigan.
Mr. Dillon had resided in Harrison since 2012, moving from Sears, Michigan and previously from Evart, Michigan and White Lake, Michigan. After Glenn’s retirement, he and Yvonne spent twelve years as campground managers at Riverside Park Campground, Evart. When Glenn wasn’t working, he enjoyed bow and rifle deer hunting, bowling, mowing grass and grounds keeping. He was especially fond of travelling the United States with his wife. Many would say Glenn was a fierce Euchre player.
Surviving Mr. Dillon is his loving wife of forty-seven years, Mrs. Yvonne J. Dillon of Harrison, six daughters; Rhonda Vance of North Carolina, Karen Stokes and husband Michael of Evart, Lora Garland of Maryville, Tennessee, Renee’ Hull and husband Andy of Golden, Illinois, Annette Maxwell and husband Tony of Cadillac, Michigan, and Rosie Danley and husband Mike of Sears, one son, Matthew Bunch of Golden, Illinois, twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren, one sister, Violet of Marshalltown, Iowa, three brothers; Richard Wyant of Massachusetts, Jerry McDowell and wife Jenny Pontiac, Michigan and Danny Wyant and wife Pearl of Green City, Missouri, plus many nieces and nephews. Mr. Dillon was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Glenn M. Dillon, one son in law, Tom Garland, one sister, Regina and four brothers; Marion, John, Charles and Paul Jr.
