Obituary for Harold Carl Franke
FRANKE, HAROLD CARL, age 97, of Shepherd, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Margaret’s Meadows Assisted Living in Remus.
Funeral Services for Harold will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 1 p.m. with Mr. Greg Harger and Mr. Matt Jensen officiating. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service in Reflections Reception Center. Interment will take place in Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., and on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Harold was born on July 11, 1921, in Salem, SD, the son of Edwin and Anna (Wobig) Franke. He married Clara Belle Thayer on March 11, 1945 in Shepherd. She preceded him in death February 8, 2009. Harold was a cabinet maker his entire life, and owned House of Cabinets. He loved fishing, dominos, and home bible studies.
Harold is survived by his son Lowell (Carol) Franke of Mt. Pleasant; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother Burnell Franke of Madison, WI., and former daughters-in-law, Wendy and Grace.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife Clara Belle in 2009; and 2 sons Eugene and Merlyn Franke.
