Obituary for Hugh Ellis Kuehne
Hugh Ellis Kuehne 77 of Prudenville passed peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Hugh was born November 20, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of George K. Kuehne and Inez (Botzler) Kuehne. Hugh graduated from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School, Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania in 1958. Upon graduation, Mr. Kuehne honorably served his country in the United States Navy and Army during the Vietnam Era. Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy and Army, Hugh went to work as a Medical Imagining Service Technician, working many years for various companies, to include; Siemens X-Ray, CGR, and Henry Ford Hospitals, where Hugh eventually retired from. He also spent several years as a co-owner with a company that specialized in the refurbishment of medical equipment, which was sold to doctors offices and clinics. On February 14, 1976 in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, Mr. Kuehne was united in marriage to the former Jerriann Laxton.
Mr. Kuehne retired to Prudenville in 2010, moving from Chesterfield Twp., Michigan. Hugh was a member of the Houghton Lake American Legion Post 245 and the National Rifle Association. Hugh was an advocate for exercising the right to vote, as he rarely missed the opportunity to cast his vote. He was a talented woodworker, always creating wood crafted keepsakes for his family. Hugh enjoyed reading, vegetable gardening alongside his wife, traveling, deep sea fishing, piloting airplanes and making memories with is family on various vacations and winter snowmobiling trips to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Many family and friends will remember Hugh for his love of dark chocolate candies and black licorice.
Surviving Mr. Kuehne is his loving wife of forty-two years, Mrs. Jerriann Kuehne of Prudenville, two sons; William H. Kuehne and wife Jamee also of Prudenville and Jason E. Kuehne of Centerline, Michigan, four grandchildren; Zacary Kuehne, Joslyn Kuehne, Ava Kuehne and Liam Kuehne, two brothers; G. Dennis Kuehne of Massachusetts and John Kuehne of Florida, plus numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Kuehne was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Jacqueline Kuehne.
Celebration of Life services honoring Hugh will be held at a later date.
