Obituary for Irene Grace Taylor (Law)

Irene Grace Taylor 97 of Harrison passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at Gladwin Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, Gladwin, Michigan. Irene was born November 28, 1921 in Port Arthur, Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of George B. and Helen P. (Reekle) Law. Irene was united in marriage to Mr. Edward Taylor. Mr. Taylor preceded Irene in death on December 5, 1990, after 43 years of marriage. Mrs. Taylor was proud when she became a naturalized United States citizen on January 27, 1943.
Mrs. Taylor had resided in Harrison since 2007, moving from Oceanside, California, where she had resided for over twenty-five years. Irene enjoyed crocheting, reading books on her Kindle, assembling jig saw puzzles and solving crossword puzzles. Her passion was cooking and baking for her family.
Surviving Mrs. Taylor are two daughters; Alice Floyd of Loganville, Georgia and Donna Smith of Warren, Michigan, two sons; Edward “Bud” Taylor and wife Bonny of Harrison and Robert Taylor of Denver, Colorado, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, sixteen great-great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Taylor also was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Susan Barryman and two sisters; Helen Godfrey and Katherine Tranchmontagne.
Funeral services honoring Mrs. Taylor will take place on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Stocking Funeral Home, Harrison with her family officiating her service. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until her service. Inurnment will be in Summerfield Township Cemetery, Harrison.
