Obituary for Jack Larry Darling

DARLING, JACK LARRY, age 76, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Woodland Hospice.

Funeral Services for Jack will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Cheryl Davis officiating. A Luncheon will follow the Service in the Reflections Reception Center. Interment of cremains will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the time of Service on Sunday at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Jack was born on August 5, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Leland and Alberta (Thatcher) Darling. He married to Phyllis Arlene (Rice) Darling on February 14, 1965. Jack worked for many years as a refrigeration technician at Delfield. He loved tinkering with automobiles and antique cars, owning a couple Model Ts. He enjoyed attending swap meets, steam shows, and Dulcimer music festivals. Jack also enjoyed deer hunting. Jack was a driver for several of his Amish friends.

Jack is survived by his seven children, Alberta (Mark) Recker of Mt. Pleasant, Doug Beltinck of Mt. Pleasant, Dorothy (Kevin) Larson of Grand Ledge, Duane (Val) Beltinck of Shepherd, Dale (Bonnie) Beltinck of Maple Rapids, Don Beltinck of Lansing, and Darlene (John) Kniffen of Shepherd; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Francis Darling of California; and sisters Barb Esch of Mecosta and Peg Hayward of Hamilton, IN.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Darling on March 21, 2014; his parents; his brothers Donald and Richard Darling and sisters Velma Mullikin, Betty White, Donna Grace, Leatha Wolfe, and Ruth Jones.
