Obituary for James Auldon "Uncle Jim" Hoyt

HOYT, JAMES AULDON “UNCLE JIM”, age 46, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.

A Memorial Service for Jim will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. A luncheon will follow at 1 p.m. at the VFW Post 3033. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Jim was born January 31, 1973, in Long Beach, California, the son of Roy Hoyt and Elaine Landon. He graduated from Dominguez High School in Compton, California with the Class of 1991. Jim was part owner of About Time Transportation. He was a huge Oakland Raiders fan, loved to camp, ride four-wheelers, and liked to dance. Uncle Jim was a great cook, and he was always known as the “grill master”. He loved time spent with his family, and his granddaughter Hailey was the light of his life. Jim liked to watch his sons play football.

Jim is survived by his children Jaime Hoyt (Kathya Campos), Karla Hoyt (Tim Burton), Elizabeth Hoyt, Maraya Hoyt, and James Hoyt, Jr., all of Mt. Pleasant; granddaughter Hailey Hoyt; father Roy (Gerrie Lou) Hoyt of Mt. Pleasant; brothers Bruce (Debbie) Hoyt of Traverse City and Jose Perez and Robert Perez, of California; sisters Debra Torres (Ernesto Guerrero) of Mt. Pleasant, Kenya Perez of California; partner, Amy Groeneveld and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Consuelo Medina; mother Elaine Perez; and sister Julie Morales.
