Obituary for James Petrie
Petrie, James, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan.
Jim was born August 3, 1933, the son of Ormond Petrie and Georgina (Dorword) Petrie. He married his first wife Joan in Detroit, MI, where they raised four wonderful children. He retired from Chrysler and moved to Bellaire, where he spent his retirement years playing on golf leagues, bowling leagues, men’s softball leagues and being a member of the Lions Club. That is where he met and eventually married Joan C Sterling. They spent almost 30 years enjoying retirement together and recently moved to Central Michigan to be closer to family and spend more time with their kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Jim loved all sports but especially loved to watch the Tigers.
He is survived by his loving wife Joan C. Petrie; daughters Debbie (Clarence) Vance and Karen Callan; sons Mark (Cathy) Petrie and James “Sonny” Petrie; step-daughter Dianne (Gerald) Snyder many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Joan A. Petrie.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
