Obituary for Janice Lea Balser
BALSER, JANICE LEA, age 74, of Lake Isabella, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital.
A Memorial Service for Janice will take place at a later date. Cremation will take place at Daisy Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella Commission on Aging, 2200 S. Lincoln Rd., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858.
Janice was born in Hutchinson, KS, on August 12, 1948, the daughter of Beryl and Velma (Whithorn) Stout. Janice married William “Bill” Balser August 10, 1991, at Weidman United Methodist Church. She worked for U.S. Marble until 1991 and owned and operated her own marble business. In retirement, she and Bill provided daycare. She was a past member of Coomer United Methodist Church. Janice liked fishing, arts, crafts, and playing cards, especially the New York version of Skip-Bo. One of her favorite pastimes was visiting zoos and watching the gorillas. More than anything, Janice loved her time spent with her granddaughters.
Janice is survived by her husband Bill Balser; son James (Courtney) McReynolds of Paw Paw; granddaughters Ashley and Izzy McReynolds; sisters Kitty Scheurerman of Gaylord, Wynona (Bob) Barnes of Fredrick; and several nieces and nephews.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents.
