Obituary for Janice Mae Fox
Fox, Janice Mae age 68 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at McLaren Central Michigan Hospital with her family by her side.
Funeral Services for Janice will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Revs. Ron and Margaret Vredeveld officiating.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service.
Janice Mae Fox was born to Wayne and Jacqueline (Calhoun) Fox on March 9, 1954 in Remus Michigan. Born with a disability, she spent her early years at the Mary Freebed facility in Grand Rapids and later at the Mt Pleasant Center before living in several different homes and even independently in her own apartment. Janice spent her last years living at McVey house in Mt. Pleasant where the staff became friends and family to her. The outings she went on with them and the care they provided made her days so much better. We thank them for all they did.
Janice loved everything purple, hand embroidery, jigsaw puzzles and being with people. She loved cats over the years that were wonderful companions to her. Janice loved participating in the Special Olympics and was able to win many medals over the years in a variety of sports.
She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and enjoyed the time she spent at services and with the many friends she had at the church.
Janice is survived by her sisters, Shirley (Bob) Thompson of Weidman, and Sharon Robinson (Brian Gren) of Evart, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and special friend Bill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McVey House of Mt. Pleasant. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
