Obituary for Janice Elaine "Jan" Grandy (Bell)
GRANDY, JANICE "JAN" ELAINE, age 75, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Maplewood of Mt. Pleasant under the care of Heartland Hospice.
A Graveside Service for Jan will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021, at 1 p.m. in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Jan was born on October 7, 1945, in Masontown, PA, daughter of William and Gail (McClelland) Bell. She married Royal Grandy in 1971. Jan was very adventurous and lived several places throughout the United States. She loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family. After the passing of her husband, Jan returned to college and received her Masters from Central Michigan University in teaching. She taught at Morrice High School in Morrice, MI, until her retirement in 2012. After retirement, she enjoyed movies, lunches with friends, reading, attending book clubs, volunteering at the Commission on Aging, taking walks, riding her bicycle, and exercise classes. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Emma.
Jan is survived by her daughters, Dawn Grandy and Amber Grandy; granddaughter, Emma Mersino; and many beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Grandy; parents; step-mother, Betty Bell; and brother, Lawrence Bell.
