Obituary for Joan Bixler
On Thursday, Jan 21, 2021, Joan Wood Bixler, 66, passed away after a short battle with cancer.
Joan was born on Nov 20, 1954, in Alma, Mi to Lloyd and Betty Wood. Joan graduated from Alma High School in 1972.
In 1978, Joan had her son Michael Long. She met Randy Bixler in 1980 and they raised her son together. Randy and Joan married in 1991.
Joan was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to races at MIS with her son and daughter in law. She was a true Bill Elloit fan and then followed to his son Chase. She enjoyed camping with her two granddaughters, son and daughter-in-law.
Joan is survived by her husband Randy, her son Michael (Eve) Long and two granddaughters Erin and Emily Long, her sister Kathy and brothers William and Donald, her brothers-in-law Barry and Byron Bixler and sister-in-law Connie Fish, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law and her sister-in-law Judy Nickel.
