Obituary for Joan Onalee "Onalee" Diebolt (Carpenter)

Joan "Onalee" Diebolt, age 91, of Lansing, formerly of Lake Isabella, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015.



A Funeral Mass for Onalee will be held at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Beal City on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Ricky Varner officiating. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church the day of the service from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church.



Onalee was born on January 6, 1924 in Flint, the daughter of Ernest and Jessie (Peek) Carpenter. She married M. Richard Diebolt on June 19, 1948 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Flint. Onalee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Onalee treasured her family and was deeply loved by them. Onalee enjoyed many hobbies, but her favorites were crocheting, putting puzzles together, playing the organ, and most of all she loved playing golf.



Onalee is survived by her four grandchildren, Jennifer (Wes) Bowling, Brian (Jodi) Colby, Thomas (Shelly) Lyman, and Jessica (Tim) Tatro; son-in-law, Cliff Kilbourne; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Jackie Carpenter. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many special friends including dear friend, Lynn Chapman.



Onalee was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard in 2008; children, Marilyn Kilbourne, Sue Lyman, son-in-law Bob Lyman, parents and her siblings.
