SKUDLER, JOAN IDA, age 88, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant under the care of Heartland Hospice.

Funeral Services for Joan will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 19, at 1 p.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Joan was born on November 21, 1929, in Norfolk, NE, the daughter of John and Ruth (Mueller) Furchert. Joan worked in the composing department for the Morning Sun for 25 years. She enjoyed doing crosswords, crocheting rugs, jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Diane (Harry) Mindel and Kristine, both of Mt. Pleasant; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Rebecca) Mindel, Brad (Erin) Mindel, Katherine Scott, and Elizabeth Scott; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and a sister, Clarice (Jeannette) Klumpp of Mt. Pleasant.

Joan was preceded in death by her son, John Skudler; daughter, Cheryl "Jackie" Scott; parents; and brother, John "Jack" Furchert.
