DART, JOHN JAY, age 79, of Oil City, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Woodland Hospice.

A Memorial Service for John will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Relief Services. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel & Cremation Service.

John was born on November 6, 1939, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Emmett and Minnie (Watson) Dart, and grew up in Dog Town. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps and served two tours in Vietnam. John married Miyoko “Kim” Nagata in December of 1963. He worked for Rowe Engineering and Ruddell Engineering as a land surveyor. John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and VFW Post 3033. He loved woodworking, playing cards at the Isabella County Commission on Aging, and gardening and growing fruit trees.

John is survived by his wife Kim Dart and daughter Christina Lee Dart (Warren Galvani), both of Oil City.

John was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Betty (Ed) Vogel, Delores “Dodie” Shepard, Michael Dart, and Joan Dart.
