John Michael Huskins
September 10th, 1934 – October 7th, 2019


John Michael Huskins, age 85, of Rosebush passed away Monday, October 7, 2019, at the Laurels of Mt. Pleasant.

Per John's wishes, there will be no services. Those wishing to make a donation in John's name may consider the Humane Animal Treatment Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral chapel.

John was a naturalized citizen born on September 10, 1934, in London, England, the son of Charles Leonard and Margaret (Villy) Huskins. He married Beth Taylor on September 6, 1969, in Detroit. John worked for Social Security Administration for over 25 years. John was a Spartan and Detroit Tigers fan.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Beth Huskins; daughter, Jennifer (John) Mertz; grandchildren, Joel and Jenna Mertz; and sister, Olwen Firestone of Columbus, OH.

John was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sheila Hori.

No one taught me better how to want to learn for knowledge sake. No one taught me better how to respect people; to call people by their first names and ask them about their lives. If you ever met my father, you remember him because he had a way of making you feel important. I miss you so much, Dad!
