Obituary for John William Wezensky

WEZENSKY, JOHN WILLIAM, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland.

Funeral Mass of John will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, at 11 a.m. with Father Loren Kalinowski officiating. For those unable to attend in person, the Funeral Mass will be broadcast live at John's Book of Memories at www.clarkfuneralchapel.com or at https://www.facebook.com/clarkfuneralchapel. Cremation will follow at Daisy Hill Crematory in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Isabella Soup Kitchen, Salvation Army, or Sacred Heart Foundation. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

John was born January 12, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of John and Ina (Smith) Wezensky. He married Helen Van Liew on August 24, 1957, in Winn, Michigan. John served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He worked for Central Michigan Community Hospital for 38 years, beginning as an electrician, worked in purchasing, maintenance, administration, vice president of guest services, vice president of construction services, and retired as vice president of support services. John was a member of the hospital engineers, American Legion, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He served as president of Michigan Association of Hospital Material Managers. John liked traveling, crafting with pvc pipe, and building birdhouses.

John is survived by his wife Helen Wezensky of Mt. Pleasant; sons, Mark (Rocio) Wezensky of Knoxville, TN, Steve (Laurie) Wezensky of Colorado Springs, CO, and Brian Wezensky of Troy, MI; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry (Betty) Wezensky of Battle Creek; and sisters, Katy (Alan) Larson of Shepherd, and Dianne Pratt of Mt. Pleasant.

John was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Wezensky; and sister, Margie Cruz.
