DUCHARME, JOSEPH LAWRENCE,age 25, of Saginaw Township, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2018 at his home. Joe, beloved son of Lisa and the late Jeffrey DuCharme, was born February 18, 1993, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School with the Class of 2011. Joe was a senior at Saginaw Valley State University, preparing to graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering in May 2019. Joe was gentle, kind, and loving. He delighted in spending time with his family and niece (Goddaughter) Adalyn and nephew Charlie. Joe was passionate about sports. He enjoyed skiing with friends and played hockey as a youth. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings and MSU fan and rooted for the Detroit Lions.

Joe is survived by his soulmate of 9 years Brooklynn Blackford of Mt. Pleasant; mother Lisa DuCharme (Aaron Caldwell) of Mt. Pleasant; 3 sisters, Danielle DuCharme, Samantha DuCharme, and Caitlin DuCharme, all of Mt. Pleasant; nephew Charles; niece and Goddaughter Adalyn; grandfather Lawrence (Betty) Dallman of Plymouth, MA; aunts and uncles, Michael and Kathleen DuCharme of Chicago, IL, Margot and Thomas Washington of Bellevue, WA, Sally and James Mitchell of Canton, MI, Michael Dallman of Mt. Juliet, TN; many cousins and other extended family members; and his kitten Oliver "Ollie".

Joe was preceded in death by his dad Jeffrey DuCharme in 2001; paternal grandparents Robert and Helene DuCharme; and maternal grandparents Gary and Diana Shockey.

A viewing is scheduled for Monday, October 8th, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 9th, at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Shepherd. Friends and family are invited one hour prior to the mass to share condolences. A luncheon in the Parish Hall will immediately follow the Mass. Memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Great Lakes Bay Region or the Humane Animal Treatment Society (H.A.T.S.) Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
