Obituary for Joyce Jean Lobert

LOBERT, JOYCE JEAN, age 82, of Blanchard, passed away at her home Monday, October 8, 2018.

Funeral Mass for Joyce will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 at 12 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church in Remus, with Father Tom Boufford officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow at St. Michael's Parish Center. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 11 from 4-8 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral mass on Friday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, St. Jude's Leukemia, or St. Michael's School. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel or the church.

Joyce was born June 19, 1936, in Blanchard, to Eugene and Opal (Hull) Griffeth. She married Anthony Lobert on July 30, 1955, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Remus. Joyce was a Mary Kay consultant for 36 years, and helped in the family business, Tony's Paint Shop. In the past, she had also worked for Bank of Lansing and 4J's Corporation. She was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for the past 30 years. Joyce was active in the Blanchard Businessman's Association, Garden Club of Blanchard, and chairperson for 24 years for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in Blanchard. She was also a member of the 300 Club to start the Blanchard Millpond Project. Joyce loved geneology, enjoyed quilting, making rugs, and gardening.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Lobert of Blanchard; children: David A. (Kathy) Lobert of Lakeview, Dennis L. (Darla) Lobert of Mt. Pleasant, Theresa "Tena" Jordan of Mt. Pleasant, Daniel W. (Geryl) Lobert of Mecosta, Bryan G. (Kellie) Lobert of Blanchard, and Sheila A. Lobert of Mt. Pleasant; 13 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Elizabeth Earns of Sault Ste. Marie, Alice Darnell of Ypsilanti, JoAnn Cain of Vicksburg; sisters-in-law Carol Lobert of Six Lakes, Ruth Lobert of Jenison, Diana (Chuck) Kellogg of Oscoda; brother-in-law John Richmond of Stanwood; former daughter-in-law Fumiko Lobert of Ann Arbor; and former son-in-law Tim Vincent of Vestaburg.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law Paul Jordan; brothers-in-law Richard Earns, Judson Cain, Ronald Darnell, Larry Lobert, Harvey Lobert; and sister-in-law Phyllis Richmond.
