Obituary for Katherine M. O'Donnell
O’Donnell, Katherine M., age 91, of Rosebush, passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Northwoods Nursing Center of Clare.
Funeral Services for Katherine will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, January 11, 2024, at 11 am, with Pastor Jim Young Officiating. A luncheon will follow in the Reflections Reception Center. Internment will take place at Denver Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 10 am until the start of service.
Katherine was born February 21, 1932, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of the late Adam and Eva (Bender) Holp. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Public Schools with the class of 1950. Katherine married James O’Donnell on August 9, 1952, in Isabella County. She worked and retired after 35 years of clerical work for the Isabella County Clerk's Office as the Deputy Clerk. Katherine attended the Clare Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, painting, spending time with her siblings and their families, sewing (making many beautiful dresses for her granddaughters), and she loved to listen to Family Life Radio. Katherine will be remembered for all the hymns she would sing around the house and in the church choir.
Katherine is survived by her daughter, Laura (Gene) House of Farwell; grandchildren, Brian (Danielle) House of Clare, Rachel House of Ypsilanti, Stacey House of Hawthorne, CA; great-grandchildren; George, Charles, Brenton, and Jack House.
Katherine is preceded in death by her parents, husband; James O’Donnell in 2020, son; Steve O’Donnell in 2021, brothers; Adam Holp, Donald Holp, Phil Holp, sisters; Evelyn Lapham, Emogene Keller, Francis Watson, Lillian Prout.
