Obituary for Kathleen Ann Ihnen (Hollingsworth)
Kathleen Ann Ihnen (Hollingsworth) was born on April 19, 1953. She passed away peacefully after a brief stay at Woodland Hospice on Thursday March 14, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Kathy grew up in Lansing and graduated from Sexton High School in 1971. She married Stanley Ihnen on April 3, 1971. Later in life she became a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Kathy will always be remembered for her spunk and crazy humor. She was a social butterfly and knew how to light up a room. She was very passionate about her grandchildren as well as the many dogs she cared for over the years. Some of her favorite hobbies were camping at Waldenwoods, spending time with her family and friends, collecting antiques, and watching The Young and the Restless.
She is survived by her amazing husband of 52 years, whom she shared a birthday with, Stanley Ihnen; son Joseph Ihnen (Robin Dennis-Ihnen); daughter Nicole (Joe) Gazda); 6 grandchildren who were the love of her life, Heather VanBuren, Justin Ihnen, Tiffani Prohaska, Zachary Prohaska, Chelsea Hayes and Nicholas Prohaska; her loving sister, Donna Warren; and many great grandchildren and step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Howard Hollingsworth; mother Betty Noble (Thwaites), and her brother Bud Hollingsworth.
There will be a Memorial Party held in her honor on Saturday, April 20, 2024, beginning at 1:00pm at 7009 N Winans Rd, Alma, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
