Obituary for Kay Beth Wantland (Knight)
WANTLAND, Kay Beth (Knight), age 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Green Acres Retirement Living Facility of Mt. Pleasant.
Per Kay’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill Crematory and a Memorial Gathering will be held on: Friday, February 24, 2023 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel Reflections Reception Center. Memorial donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association. Envelopes will be available at the Clark Family Funeral Chapel.
Kay was born in Mt. Pleasant, on February 6, 1941, the daughter of the late Eugene and Marvel (Warner) Knight. On December 15, 1962, she married Richard Wantland in Mt. Pleasant. Along with her husband, Kay loved to travel. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker. Kay enjoyed crafts, scrapbooking, gardening, and shopping. She will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Kay is survived by her children, Kimberly Huetteman of Cadillac MI, Carrie (Lindsay) Wright of Oxford MI; grandchildren, Samatha (Bram) Rice, Sara Huetteman, Caitlin Wright, Nick Wright; great-grandchildren, Ivan Rice, Logan Rice, Judson Rice; brother Denny (Linda) Knight; sister-in-law Sue Knight; and many nieces and a nephew.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Wantland in 2020, and brother Gary Knight in 2013.
