Obituary for Larene Jo Panwas (Bowles)

Larene Jo Panwas was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on December 20th, 2023 after her courageous battle with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia that lasted over two decades. She was 64 years old. Larene was born the daughter of Lawrence Bowles Sr. and Darlene Church (McClure). Larene was united in marriage to Mr. Craig S. Panwas on March 7, 1986.

Larene loved to hunt for antiques and restore them. She also loved a freshly cleaned house, adored the casino, and had a very sharp mind with an excellent memory. She would recall and re-tell our cherished family moments when we all would get together. She was very brave, kind, forgiving, and could always make us laugh when she knew we needed it. Her memory will live on inside those she loved.

Larene is survived by her husband, Craig Panwas; their three children, Dena Renee, Meagan Rose, Zachary Victor; and her brother Larry.

A memorial service will be held in Lansing, Michigan with a future location and date to be determined. To share an online memory or condolence with Larene’s family, please visit: www.clarkstocking.com. Arrangements for Mrs. Panwas are entrusted with Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service (989)539-7810.

This poem was written by Larene for her mother, Darlene when she passed after her own battle with cancer.

"My Mother's Love"

My mother's love will never die.
It lives on; it's by my side.

She assured me that it would be
Here always and through eternity.

Should you ever doubt your mother's love,
Don't wait until she shines above.

Go to her and tell her so.
For I did this and now I know...

My mother's love was always there.
I chose not to see how much she cared.

I was blind but now I see,
How much her live has meant to me.

Her strength, her courage and caring ways,
Will be missed throughout my days.

My mother's love I'll cherish so,
I'll pass it on; it shall grow.

She always said
The apple doesn't fall
Far from the tree.
My mother's daughter
I am proud to be.
