Larry Lee Thomas, age 86, died Saturday, July 30, 2022, in Bay City, MI. He was born on August 20, 1935, in Harrison, MI to Francis and Ellen Thomas, and he grew up in Highland Park, MI. He was the second of five children, including brothers James, William, and Robert, and sister Sally. He graduated from Highland Park Junior College and Central Michigan University, where he met Judy L. Andrews. They were married on June 15, 1957. They had two children, William, born in 1958, and Jennifer, born in 1962.

Larry received his Specialist degree from Michigan State University and taught business education at Central Michigan University from 1967 until retirement. He was also a founding member of the Mt. Pleasant Michigan Kennel Club. Larry enjoyed sports and played basketball in High School and was involved in coaching his son and grandson in youth sports over the years. He played senior softball and was a lifelong golfer, playing up until the last few months of his life.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife Judy, and brothers James and William. He is survived by son William (Diane) of Mt. Pleasant, MI, and daughter Jennifer (Liz) of Ferndale, MI, as well as grandchildren Jessica of Unionville, MI, and Andrew (Alyssa) of Dexter, MI, and great-grandchild Emma.

Larry desired to have no funeral service but will have a memorial at a date to be determined. Memorial Donations can be made in his name to the Humane Animal Treatment Society (HATS). Envelopes are available at Clark Funeral Chapel in Mt. Pleasant.
