Obituary for Leo Stanton Haynes Sr.

HAYNES, LEO STANTON, age 85, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland.

Funeral Services for Leo will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Community Church on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 12 noon with Pastor Aaron Mora officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel and Mount Pleasant Community Church.

Leo was born on March 27, 1936, in West Virginia, son of Alvie and Mildred (Trigina) Haynes. He married the love of his life, Katherine Julia Lezan on November 14, 1956. He was a devoted husband and father. Leo was a jack of all trades, specialized in mechanics and proud of his auto sales car lot. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and maintaining his yard. He loved his family and always wanted them close.

Leo is survived by his children, Deb (Tom) Morey, Diane Zimmerman, Leo "Putt" (Carolyn) Haynes, Jr., Rob Haynes, Lisa Haynes, and Mike (Tracie) Haynes; grandchildren, Ryan (David Balmer) Morey, Stacy (Jake) Hirschman, Jamie (Jordan) Kinsey, Jessica McCray, James (Kristen) Zimmerman, Cai (Jennie) Fei, Corey Haynes, Casey (Jordyn Kennedy) Haynes, Matthew (Rebecca) Courser, and Andrew Haynes; great-grandchildren, Andrew Hirschman, Henry Hirschman, Julius McCray, Lillianna Zimmerman, Liam Zimmerman, Claire Fei, Andric Fei, Elijah Courser, and Sutton Haynes; and of course, Skunky and Kitty, his lap buddies.

Leo was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Katherine in 2015; parents; and sister, Marylou Beard.
