Nelson, LeRoy Roland, age 87, of Barryton, MI, passed away August 27, 2021, around 1:50 p.m. with his loving family by his side.
Cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill Crematory in Mt. Pleasant. A Memorial Service for LeRoy will be held at 3 p.m. on September 11, 2021, at Clark Family Funeral Chapel & Cremation Service with Elder Jim Dunham officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of Service at the funeral chapel. A burial of ashes will take place at North Star Cemetery following the service. After burial the Nelson family will receive friends at Samantha Groulx’s home (2251 E Maple Rapids Rd. St. John’s MI. 48879) for a meal in memory of LeRoy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel & Cremation Service.
Leroy was born July 20, 1934, in Mount Pleasant, son to LeRoy and Eleanor (Houghton) Nelson.
LeRoy is survived by his sister Lorreta Cotter and 5 nephews. A loving father to; Trudy (Joe) Palus, Vicky Nelson, and Marty Nelson. Grandfather to; Josh (Karon) Palus, Jeremy (Amy) Palus, Jason Palus, Janelle (Matt) Crumbaugh, Justina (Dusty) Crumbaugh, Justin (Britney) Palus, Jared Palus, Chris (Sarah) Wooley, Cliffton (Casey) Dershem, Luke (Rachael) Chapko, Todd (Jessica) Miller, Jordan (Samantha) Groulx, Heather Nelson, Chelsie Nelson, Jonathan Welter, Randy Nelson, Brandon (Stephanie) Todd, AJ Mead, Patrick (Bobbijane) VanLuven, Tiras (Rashell) Fowler, Tasha Davenport. LeRoy carries a legacy of 51 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his Parents, LeRoy and Eleanor (Houghton) Nelson; Father-in-law, Merl Kerr; Mother-in-law, Blanch Kerr; Mother of his children, Beverly Nelson; Wife, Rose Nelson; Sons Randy and Sandy Nelson; Brothers-in-law David Cotter and Richard Kerr and infant son, David, and granddaughter Carrie Nelson.
