Obituary for Leslie John Stahl
STAHL, LESLIE JOHN, age 68, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023.
Cremation will take place at Daisy Hill. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 4 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Eagles #4463. An Illinois memorial service for Les will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Les was born in Pontiac, Illinois on June 12, 1954, the son of Elmer and Margaret (Smith) Stahl. He was a graduate of Cornell High School with the class of 1972. Les worked as a machinist for Caterpillar, Inc. in Aurora, Illinois for 32 years, before retiring in 2005. He married Kathleen (Roe) on November 28, 1987, in Marseilles, Illinois. Les was a member of the Lions Club in Marseilles, Moose Lodge in Munising, and Eagles #4463 in Mt. Pleasant. Les had many hobbies; he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, bowling, dancing, and playing euchre.
Les is survived by his wife Kathy Stahl of Mt. Pleasant; children Mark Ciulla and family, Jennifer Long and family, Charlene Stahl and family, all of Illinois; stepson Billy Foster and family of Indiana, Tom Foster and family of Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters Sandy (Tom) Clay and Janice Baron, both of Streator, Illinois.
Les was preceded in death by his parents; son Robert Stahl; and brother Raymond Stahl.
