Obituary for Leslie "Wayne" Schutt
SCHUTT, Leslie Wayne, age 85, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at McLaren Mount Pleasant.
Per Wayne’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Daisy Hill in Mt. Pleasant and no services are scheduled at this time.
Wayne was born in Rosebush, MI, February 23, 1937, the son of the late Erving and Sarah (Marshall) Schutt. He married the love of his life Sonja (Abbey) Schutt on August 4, 1957 in Rosebush MI. Wayne worked as an operator for Dow Corning for 27 years retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Steel Workers Union. Wayne loved woodworking and spending time feeding the local wildlife, especially the deer. He will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Sonja; children, Roger (Karen) Schutt of Bonham TX, Laurie (Randy) Sonley of Winter WI, Brian Schutt of Mt. Pleasant MI; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ronald Schutt, Loren Schutt, Junior Schutt, Lyle Schutt, Alvin Schutt, Donavon Schutt, Dale Schutt; sisters, Velma West, Veronica Methner, Esther Caldwell.
