Obituary for Levine Alta Bennett (Legried)
Levine Alta Bennett age 93 of Holt, Michigan passed away peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Eaton County Health Rehabilitation Services, Charlotte, Michigan. Levine was born February 8, 1931 in Rake, Iowa the daughter of Oscar Legried and Agnes (Herem) Legried. Levine was united in marriage to Mr. Charles L. Bennett on October 14, 1952 in California. Mr. Bennett preceded Levine in death on August 13, 1990.
Mrs. Bennett had resided in Holt and the greater Lansing Area since 2015, moving from Harrison, where she resided since 1987. Levine had worked as a hospital volunteer with Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Clare for several years. She was a past member of the American Legion Post 404 Auxiliary and Harrison Lioness. Levine enjoyed golfing, quilting, assembling jig saw puzzles and considered herself an avid reader.
Surviving Mrs. Bennett is her daughter, Melinda Bennett of Charlotte, four grandchildren; Leanne Enck-Buchanan, and husband James, Sean Enck, Miranda Geminder and husband Steve and Heather Rademacher and husband Ron, three great-grandchildren, one brother, Kenneth Legried of Florida and Colorado, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Levine also was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters; Michelle Newman (March 28, 1981) and Marlene Enck (March 18, 2022), two sons; Merlin Bennett (March 27, 1976) and Michael Benett (May 5, 2019), one sister, Bonna Woodwick and three brothers; Darrel Legried, Clemens Legried and Omer Legried.
Graveside memorial services honoring Levine will be held at a later date at Hamilton Township Cemetery.
