Obituary for Linda Lou Recker
RECKER, LINDA LOU, age 82, of Shepherd, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023, at My Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland.
Funeral Services for Linda will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 13, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Benjamen Evers officiating. Burial will immediately follow at St. Patrick’s Irishtown Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon will take place at R&R Venue in Shepherd. The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
Linda was born in Mt. Pleasant, June 15, 1941, the daughter of Mervin and Margaret (Holmes) Hynes. She was a graduate of Shepherd High School with the class of 1959. Linda married Donald J. Recker in 1959 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Linda was a farmer’s wife; they worked hard throughout the year and always left time for summer adventures camping and canoeing or taking cross country trips out west with the kids. Linda was a spiritual woman and had attended several churches.
Linda is survived by her sons; Jeff Recker (Carol Farnan) of Shepherd, Dan Recker of Shepherd, Scott Recker of Vestaburg, Joe Recker of Evart; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brothers Tim (Carol) Hynes, Jim (Becky) Hynes, both of Shepherd; sister Jeanette Foster of Potterville; and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband Don; son Steven J. Recker; daughter Tammy M. Recker; infant granddaughter; sister Nancy Gurski; and brother Don Hynes.
