Obituary for Linda Jean Schriber (Galliver)

Linda Jean Schriber, age 79, of Mt. Pleasant passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021, in Muskegon under the care of Harbor Hospice.

Linda was born on February 3, 1942, in Caro, daughter of Herbert and Charlotte (Tovey) Robinson. At age 10, she was adopted by Charles Galliver. Linda enjoyed helping others and worked as a LPN for over 18 years. She found pleasure in sharing her talents for cooking, painting, and crafting with others. She decorated her home for every holiday to spread cheer to others.

Linda was a kind person who was known for being fun-loving and reliable. She loved spending time with her family and went out of her way to make sure close friends and family knew they were important to her.

Toward the end of her journey, she wanted to enjoy her favorite things. She spent time with those closest to her. She ate her favorite foods like chocolate and cherry cheesecake. She listened to her favorite songs from Barry Manilow, John Denver, and the Sound of Music soundtrack. She found pleasure in the little things. She wanted her loved ones, both family and friends, to remember to enjoy the little things in life and to remember her with joy and laughter, instead of sorrow.

Linda is survived by her children, Shelli (Larry) Smith of Rothbury and Jim (Dawn Krantz) Schriber of Elwell; grandchildren, Travis (Emily) Schriber, Ryan (Brooke) Schriber, Jason Wolfe, Jenna (Sean) Burton, and Morgan (Jake Bechtel) Wolfe, Larry Smith II; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Hannah, and Tessa Schriber; Caden and Luke Schriber, Mayce and Rylee Burton, Jamilah and Larry (L.J.) Smith III and sisters, Carolyn Young of Pinconning, Patty McClenathen of Adrian, and Marge Sawicki of Clinton Township.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, adoptive father, stepmother Mary Louise Robinson, and sister, Pam Nietzel.

A Private Family Service will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA-to prevent animal cruelty. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.
