Obituary for Linda Gail Winnie

Winnie, Linda Gail, age 75 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, in Ann Arbor.

A memorial service for Linda will take place on Friday, July 23, 2021, at 5 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel with Benjamen Evers officiating. A luncheon will follow in Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Linda was born August 25, 1945, in Paris, IL, the daughter of Paul and Norma (Chesrown) Snyder. She married James “Jim” Winnie on March 23, 1963. Linda received her LPN from Mid-Michigan Community College and later received her RN from Montcalm Community College. She worked in various nursing homes for 26 years and taught CNA classes for many years. Linda was a member of Coomer Methodist Church. She enjoyed ceramics, bowling, shopping and kept many collections, such as spoons and salt and pepper shakers. Linda loved camping with her grandchildren.

Linda is survived by her husband: Jim; children: Steve (Jackie) Winnie of Saginaw, Dan (Wendy) Winnie, Mike (April) Winnie and Deanna (Matt) Rogers, all of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Trevor, Kyle and Alyssa Winnie, Makaila, Kennedy and Falon Winnie, Kayla and Michael Winnie, and Jacob (Melanie) Rogers and Emma Fulk; great-grandchildren: Autumn and Isabella; brother: Bill (Deb) Snyder of Saginaw; sister: Cathy Snyder of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law: Gene Winnie of Columbiaville; sister-in-law: Bernice Smith of Mt. Pleasant;many nieces and nephews, and dog, Cocoa.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother: Richard “Rick” Snyder; her grandmother, whom she was especially close to: Marjorie Chesrown-Rollings; and parents-in-law: Hugh and Clarice Winnie.
