Obituary for Lona Joan Clennan (Flood)
Lona "Joan" Clennan, age 88, of Harrison passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at The Brook of Gladwin under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Funeral Services for Joan will be held at St. Luke Lutheran Church on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Timothy Sheridan officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Plains Cemetery. A Luncheon will follow the committal service at St. Luke. The family will receive friends at Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel on Sunday, January 22, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church the day of the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to St Luke Lutheran Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and Church.
Joan was born on September 28, 1934, in Ferndale, MI, daughter of Wesley and Lona (Shrank) Flood. She married the love of her life, Bruce Clennan on May 25, 1957, at Hope Lutheran Church in Detroit. Joan was a founding member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, helping out with numerous church activities, bowling, quilting, square dancing, but most importantly spending time with her family.
Joan is survived by her sons, Kevin (Judy) Clennan of Harrison, Neil (Martha Stokely) Clennan of Ann Arbor, and Brian (Beccy) Clennan of Harrison; daughter, Eileen Wheeler of Lansing; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Bruce Clennan on December 6, 2012; 2 grandchildren; parents, Lona and Wesley; and sister, Shirley Rolik.
