Obituary for Luella Ann Kloss (Disbrow)

Luella Ann Kloss age 82 of Harrison passed away at her home on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Luella was born May 30, 1940, in Lansing, Michigan the daughter of T.D. and Iva Fern (Stroud) Disbrow. Luella graduated from Perry High School in 1958. Luella was united in marriage to Andrew John Kloss on January 26, 1963, in Williamston, Michigan. Andy preceded Luella in death on April 4, 2013.
Luella retired from the State of Michigan Department of Public Health after twenty plus years of dedicated service. Luella had resided in Harrison since 1998, moving from Perry, Michigan. Luella was an active member of St. Athanasius Catholic Church, Harrison, where she served as an usher as well as many years with the Anna J. Guild. She enjoyed sewing, baking, camping, and often spent time on the sidelines cheering her children and grandchildren in all their activities.
Surviving Luella are her 4 children: Judith Smith (Mark) of Holt, Michael Kloss (Emily) of Harbor Springs, Lisa Shaw (Rick) of Lexington and Randy Kloss (Erika) of Petoskey, eleven grandchildren: Jake Kloss (Maggie), Scott Kloss (Michelle), Ben Kloss (Kelli), Jeremy Kloss, Zachary Smith, Zane Smith, Sydney Shaw, Laurel Shaw, Brock Kloss, Blain Kloss, Brett Kloss, 5 great-grandchildren: Lyla, Henry, Griffin, Amelia and Reese Kloss, three sisters: Gertrude Haas, Ruth Crandell (Frank) and Linda Smith (Pete), sister-in-law, Mary Jane Disbrow, plus many nieces, nephews and extended family. Luella also was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Patsy Force and 2 brothers: Clyde Lewis Disbrow and Charles Fredrick Disbrow.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Luella will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. from St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 310 South Broad St., Harrison with Rev. Father J. Marcel Portelli officiating. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. A second visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Burial will immediately follow Mass at Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Mrs. Kloss may be considered to: Anna J. Guild or Clare County Baby Pantry.
