Obituary for Lyle Dick "Dick" Gardner
Lyle D. “Dick” Gardner 89 of Markey Township, Michigan passed away Thursday, July 18, 2019
at Crawford Continuing Care Center-Grayling, Michigan. Lyle was born July 5, 1930 in Grayling, the son of Truman L. and Grace E. (Keene) Gardner. Lyle graduated from Houghton Lake High School in 1949.
Lyle was a lifetime resident of Markey Township. He owned and operated The Gardner Farm of Markey Township and was a truck driver for various road construction companies. Lyle was very passionate and dedicated to his farm.
Surviving Mr. Gardner are his five children, two daughters; Cindy Galliher and husband Greg of Houghton Lake and Karen Anscomb and husband David of Lake City, Michigan, three sons; Stan Gardner of Markey Township, Steve Gardner also of Markey Township and Gregg Gardner and wife Amy of Houghton Lake, Michigan, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one brother, Leon Gardner and wife Sandy of Bay City, Michigan, his close friend, Diane Edly of Roscommon, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Gardner was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carmella Shiels.
