Obituary for Marcus Dean "Marc" Swartout
Marcus Dean “Marc” Swartout, 58, passed away peacefully in his home on February 19, 2023. Marc was born premature, with many complications in Brush, Colorado on January 26th, 1965. He was diagnosed in October 2022 with Late Stage 4 esophageal cancer. Marc came into this world and finished his journey fighting. Marc has been all over the country from relocating for his father’s careers out west, to roaming the roads for his many jobs. He’s installed satellites, been an EMT Specialist, delivered salt for Culligan Water Conditioning, and was a short-order cook in numerous restaurants here in Harrison. Marc’s favorite things to do was cook, listen to music – biggest DeadHead ever, spend time with his friends and family, discuss politics, spoil his cat son, Jangles, and be with his “girls.”
Surviving, is his wife of 32 years, Stacey Swartout and only daughter Quincy Swartout, one sister Julie Washburn (Lance) of Farmington Hills, Michigan, 3 nieces, 2 nephews, several great nieces and nephews, adopted brothers and sisters, and so many friends all over the country who he loved like his own family.
Marc is preceded in death by both his parents William Marcus and Goldie Pearl Swartout, and Sisters Gloria Jean Serafin-Swartout, and Linda LaVina Morrison.
Funeral services honoring Marc will be held Monday, February 27, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. from Clark-Stocking Funeral Chapel, 165 W. Oak St., Harrison. Visitation will take place on Monday, February 27, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. until time of service. Inurnment will be in Pleasant Plains Cemetery, Harrison. Memorial gifts in memory of Marc may be considered to the Swartout family, in care of: Stacey L. Swartout. All memorial gifts will be used to purchase winter clothing for community school students, as Marc loved to support his local community and businesses with donations..
