Obituary for Margaret Patricia "Pat" Hillman

Hillman, Margaret Patricia “Pat”, 89, of Alma passed away Monday, September 5, 2022, at Woodland Hospice House of Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services for Pat will be held at 11am on Monday, September 12, at Clark Funeral Chapel with Deacon Larry Fussman officiating. The Hillman family will receive friends at Clark Funeral Chapel from 10 a.m. until time of services. Graveside services will be held at Riverside Cemetery Mt. Pleasant. A luncheon will follow services for Pat at Reflections Reception Center attached to the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice House. Envelopes will be available at Clark Family Funeral Chapel.

Pat was born March 23, 1933 at the family home in Isabella County, the daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (Vinton) Phelps. She worked for over 40 years for her brothers as a Barmaid at the Oil City Bar. Pat was also a loving mother of eight children that many would say was her primary job. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her many connections she made over the years.

Pat is survived by her children, Charlotte McNeal of Mt. Pleasant, Chris (Paul) Davenport of Alma, Lucinda (Leslie) Hillman of St. Joseph MO, Michael (Ronda) Hillman of Remus, and Bruce (Joann) Hillman of Ithaca; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn (Virl) Wright of Farwell, son-in-law, Skip Smith; and many nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents: Clarence and Nellie; daughters, Cheryl Smith, Diane Emery, and Charlene Kappler; son-in-law, Red McNeal; brothers, Samuel Phelps, Stanley Phelps, Gerald Phelps; sisters, Francis Brown, Emily Campbell, Virginia Reed, and Beverly Kruger and significant other of 18 years, Pearl "P.J." Smith.
