Obituary for Margaret Delores Rowley (Neyome)

ROWLEY, MARGARET D., age 88, of Mt. Pleasant and Jackson, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at Green Acres Assisted Living in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral Services for Margaret will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at 1 p.m. with Sam McClellan officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Following the burial, a luncheon will take place at Reflections Reception Center. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association or Colorectal Cancer Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel.

Margaret was born August 24, 1934, in Charlevoix, Michigan, the daughter of Kenneth and Cecilia (Tepkeyah) Dake. She married Robert R. Neyome, Sr. on July 10, 1954, in Mt. Pleasant, Robert preceded her in death on October 28, 1997. Margaret then married Gerald “Jerry” Rowley on February 3, 2001. She worked as a seamstress for Camp International in Jackson and retired after 28 years. Margaret was a member of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa Chippewa Indians, Page Avenue Baptist Church in Michigan Center and Grass Lake Federated Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and loved traveling throughout the United States, and spending winters in Florida.

Margaret is survived by her husband Jerry Rowley of Jackson; children Kim Ambs (Tony O’Neill) of Mt. Pleasant, Michael Neyome of Paw Paw, Robert (“Pandy”) Neyome, Jr. of Indian River; stepchildren Jeffery Rowley and Roberta Rowley, both of Jackson; grandchildren Harry (Beth) Ambs, Jeffrey Ambs, David (Samantha) Ambs, Kenneth Tello, Libby Neyome, Johnathan Neyome, Stefan (Alena) Neyome; great-grandchildren Ryan Ambs, Hunter Ambs, Owen Ambs, Estellise Neyome, Judith Keister, Vincent Keister; 5 step-grandchildren; 12 step great-grandchildren; sister Charlene John of North Port; sister-in-law Jan Wonegeshik of Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband R.R. “Jack” Neyome; grandson Brandon Neyome; brothers Jim, David, and Robert Wonegshik; sisters Bertha Parkey, Amelia Fritz, and Shirley McDonald.
