Marilynn Smialek, age 86, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, exactly 10 days after her beloved husband, Walter.

Marilynn was born May 2, 1936, in Detroit, daughter of Michael and Frances (Wyshinski) Miller.
Marilynn was a stay-at-home mom when her children were younger, doing volunteer work for St. Basil Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts. As the children grew up, Marilynn worked in the cafeteria for elementary schools and drove her children all over the state for swim meets.
Marilynn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Marilynn is preceded in death by her loving husband and soulmate, Walter Smialek and son, Martin Smialek. Marilynn is survived by her children, Linda Munchiando and Steven Smialek; son-in-law, Greg Munchiando; granddaughters, Kira Munchiando and Ashley Betts; "step-grandson", Joe Elwart; and great-granddaughters Tatum Verikas and Harper Verikas.
